Today, Giant, Liv, and Cadex have introduced an array of cutting-edge time trial technology that will be utilized by Team Jayco AlUla and Liv AlUla Jayco in the forthcoming WorldTour season.
The latest time trial bikes, which come in triathlon-specific configurations featuring enhanced storage solutions for gear, nutrition, and hydration, showcase advancements in multiple areas. These include enhanced aerodynamics, decreased weight, superior fit options, and better handling capabilities. Additionally, the Cadex wheels contribute to these improvements with their lighter weight and aerodynamic design.
Giant Trinity Advanced SL TT 竞赛用车
Thanks to the use of what Giant calls Advanced SL-grade composites, the Trinity Advanced SL TT frameset is a whopping 558 grams lighter than the previous generation Giant TT frame, resulting in a 12 percent improvement in the bike’s stiffness to weight ratio, according to Giant. That should make for a bike that accelerates quicker and climbs faster, both important aspects of modern time trial bikes as the race of truth continues to become more technical and punchy rather than being a simple straight-line speed test.

Giant offers a complete package that encompasses all the features you would anticipate from a high-end time trial bike today, including seamless integration and disc braking systems.
The front end of the bike offers extensive adjustability to accommodate a diverse range of time trial positions. You can modify the stack, reach, angle, and width of the armrests to fit your preferences. The stack height can be adjusted from 60mm to 80mm, while the reach can be set between 60mm and 75mm. The armrest width has expanded from six to eight settings, and riders can choose from three different armrest angles (0, 10, or 15 degrees). Additionally, there are four seatpost offset options, allowing for 51mm of adjustment to achieve a more precise fit at the rear of the bike.

Time trial bikes have long been the final stronghold for rim brakes within the WorldTour peloton, with a few manufacturers still clinging to this traditional technology. However, the introduction of the Trinity Advanced SL TT signifies another shift away from rim brakes. Surprisingly, even with the inclusion of disc brakes, this bike boasts improved speed compared to its predecessors. Giant utilized a combination of advanced computer-aided Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis and practical wind tunnel testing to optimize the design of each tube, focusing particularly on the areas surrounding the disc brake calipers.

Giant asserts that the new model offers a 5.9-watt aerodynamic benefit over its predecessor, but does not clarify the extent to which this improvement can be attributed to the integrated storage features of the triathlon-specific variant.
Nonetheless, the bike has already demonstrated its effectiveness in real-world conditions. Luke Plapp has played a key role in its development, testing prototypes during the Olympics and recently clinching his third Australian time trial championship while riding the new frameset.
The time trial model is offered exclusively as a frameset for $4,300 USD / £3,749 GBP / $6,999 AUD / $6,999 CAD. It is available in four different sizes: XS, S, M, and L.
Liv Affirm
Liv, the women-focused brand under the Giant umbrella, has also introduced an enhanced version of their time trial bike, the Avow Advanced SL Tri.

In part by using the brand’s Advanced SL-grade composite material, Liv has shaved 433 grams from the previous generation of this bike, despite adding disc brakes, for a 10 percent improvement in stiffness to weight, resulting in improved handling.
This frameset is designed to cater to both time trialists and triathletes, featuring an exceptionally customizable fit. The armrests provide 24 times more adjustment options than previous models, allowing for modifications in stack, reach, angle, and width. Additionally, the seatpost includes four offset positions, offering a total of 51mm of adjustability. Time trial experts can also shorten the steerer tube to achieve a more aggressive riding position.
Liv has not made any explicit aerodynamic assertions regarding the Avow, but the tube shapes have been meticulously optimized, akin to those on the Giant Trinity. Additionally, Liv provides a range of integrated storage solutions that enhance aerodynamics for triathletes who are not constrained by the UCI frame regulations that apply to WorldTour road cyclists.
The Avow Advanced SL Tri comes in sizes XXS, XS, S, and M, priced at €4,199 EUR or £3,749 GBP. Currently, pricing in US dollars is not available.
Cadex Max Aero Disc and Aero 4-Spoke Wheels
Not to be outdone, Cadex, the wheel brand in the Giant brand portfolio, has unveiled two new time trial wheels.

The Cadex Max Aero Disc stands out as the lightest disc wheel produced by Cadex, weighing in at only 1,000 grams. The company highlights significant advancements in performance with this new disc, boasting a remarkable 54.3 percent increase in lateral stiffness and a 20.2 percent enhancement in transmission stiffness.

This is attributed to the wheel's construction, which features a cohesive design of carbon spokes, hub, and rim, all enhanced by an aerodynamic cover crafted from a 1K carbon fiber weave.
The disc wheel embraces contemporary standards by incorporating a hookless rim with an internal width of 22.4mm. This wheel is designed exclusively for the rear.

The Aero 4-Spoke is Cadex's latest addition to their time trial wheel lineup, designed specifically for breezy conditions. In contrast to the disc wheel, this model consists of a 50mm front rim paired with a 65mm rear rim. Similar to the disc variant, the four-spoke wheels are constructed with 1K carbon weave rims and have an internal rim width of 22.4mm. Additionally, the Aero 4-Spoke is equipped with Cadex’s Low Friction R3-C40 aero rear hub and features ceramic bearings for enhanced performance.
The front four-spoke wheels have a weight of 880 grams, while the rear ones weigh 1,047 grams.
